1. Thời điểm giâm rễ mai

Rễ mai lấy để giâm trong dat trong mai phải chọn khi đang trong pha tĩnh (cuối pha tĩnh là tốt nhất). Giả dụ làm đúng thì tỷ lệ sống sắp 100%.
2. Chọn rễ mai vàng để giâm
Độ lớn của rễ mai vàng được tính bằng con đường kính. Qua khảo sát thực tại thì rễ nhỏ cỡ 1 mm nó cũng ra chồi được. Nhưng nhỏ quá cây mọc rất yếu. Vì vậy, chúng ta nên chọn rễ to cỡ trong khoảng 3 - 5 mm (tương chống chọi đũa ăn cơm) để giâm là tốt nhất. Vậy những rễ to hơn nữa thì có thể “cao tuổi” khi giâm vẫn sống nhưng tỷ lệ thấp.
Độ dài: dù rễ như là kho cất dưỡng chất để ra chồi, nhưng cũng chúng ta không nên cắt quá ngắn. Độ ngắn tối thiểu để chồi mọc mạnh khoảng 13 lần con đường kính rễ. Về độ dài thì ko hạn chế (càng dài càng tốt).
3. Phương pháp cắt gọt rễ
Sau khi dùng kéo cắt rễ, dùng dao bén gọt lại giống như gọt cành giâm. Các rễ phân nhánh dù nhỏ hay to trên đoạn rễ ấy nên giữ lại. Vì rễ nhỏ sẽ mau sinh ra rễ nhỏ hơn. Điều này, sẽ tạo điều kiện cho cây tương lai khi ra chồi sẽ mọc mạnh hơn.
Sau lúc cắt gọt xong có thể nhúng rễ vào Viprom để kích thích rễ con ra nhanh.
4. Kỹ thuật giâm cành bằng rễ và săn sóc
Giâm rễ: Do rễ thường nằm trong đất, nên nó chẳng thể thích nghi kịp với điều kiện trơ ra như cành. Do vậy, nếu như giâm rễ cạn quá thì rễ sẽ bị khô ko ra chồi được.
Giâm rễ mai vàng
Phải cắm rễ vào chậu đầy đủ tất cả (chỉ chừa phần trên nhô lên khoảng vài mm là đủ). Về chất trồng, kích cỡ chậu,…giống như phần giâm cành. Trừ khi rễ lớn và dài thì chậu trồng bắt đề nghị tương đương.
Chăm sóc: Do rễ cắm ngập sâu vào chất trồng nên việc tưới đơn thuần hơn giâm cành. Chỉ cần chúng ta tưới nước giữ ẩm chất trồng thường xuyên là đủ. Mặt khác, rễ cũng rất dễ bị các loại bệnh tấn công nên cũng ko cần phải phun ngừa thường xuyên như giâm cành. Chỉ cần 1 - 2 lần kể từ giâm cho tới khi có chồi non (khoảng 1 - 2 tháng rễ mới ra chồi). Nhưng lúc có chồi non thì nên phun đề phòng định kỳ như phần giâm cành để bảo kê chồi non.
Các phần khác như bón phân, chuyển chậu, cách ghép mai vàng…giống như phần giâm cành.
